The Swanson Restaurant opened in 2002. The Restaurant was named after Ms. Norrine Swanson Jones, who lived there in the home from the 1920s. Ms. Swanson established the first kindergarten in her home in the late 1930s. The structure as it appears today was begun as a Livery Stable constructed by Mr. Bennett in 1790; then a three room house was added to the property in 1880, and was occupied by former Mayor Cox of Perry; then in the 1920s Mr. Swanson constructed the additional rooms.
